Pam Krimsky’s Bio
Growing up in Brooklyn, I cherished summers in the Catskills and The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. I studied Painting at Queens College, ( MFA, 1982). In 1982, I came to the Hudson Valley to paint from the landscape. I love drawing and while I work directly from landscape, still-life and figures regularly, to refresh my vision, my strongest interest is painting figure compositions from imagination often on themes of Music and Dance.
Between 1991 and 2007, living in Iran, I painted, exhibited and taught Art to all levels, privately and publicly. As one of two faculty hired to open a new Art College, I taught Drawing and 2-D Design in Farsi to freshmen and sophomore Art Majors at the University in Zahedan.
My home and studio have been in Highland since 2007. I was very involved in politics during a few years when I had a ‘painter’s block’. I exhibit regularly and this is the fourth Solo Show this year. In 2016, I went to a Community Day ceramics class. Given a hunk of clay, I enjoyed modeling a small head in bas-relief. I now ‘set’ clay pieces in mixed media works.
