Rowan is a visual artist, muralist, graphic designer and illustrator based in Red Hook, New York. Rowan’s work is deeply inspired by movement, balance, line and chance, many elements that run parallel to her background as a dancer. Having 20 years of dance training under her belt, Rowan’s primary education in these elements took place within the context of a dance studio, through physical movement. Rowan’s background translates in her 2D artwork through her use of movement, layering, texture, color, and build-up of surfaces. Rowan creates mixed media work in a wide variety of sizes, often taking the form of large paintings on unstretched canvas, site-specific mural artwork, and ink drawings. Rowan studied at Bard College, where she graduated with a Bachelors in Studio Art in 2015. Some of Rowan’s past clients have included The Freehand Hotel (NYC), The NUHotel Brooklyn, For Days, Graduate Hotels, ArtPark Chatham, Modern Accord Depot, Red Hook Central School District, Lasting Joy Brewery, and Wylde (Hudson, NY), to name a few.

Enter from Montgomery Street (stairs only) or Montgomery Row parking lots (elevator & stairs). Open M-F 9am-6pm, Sat 8am- 6pm, & Sun 8am-3pm, excluding holidays.
