History

A family owned property for more than eighty years, Montgomery Row was once an automobile garage and gasoline station. Known to locals as the “Chevy Garage”, the Rhinebeck Garage served the community of Rhinebeck and the Hudson Valley for more than 70 years.

In 1998, after the Chevy Garage closed its doors, we renovated our beloved brick landmark into the award-winning Montgomery Row. A new home for Hudson Valley favorites: Hammertown, Changes, and Oblong Books & Music. Add Gigi Trattoria, a fabulous new restaurant to the mix and Montgomery Row was a hit!

In 2003, building #2 was unveiled across the street. Two floors of specialized offices and services fit for the locally loved and the nationally known, a fantastic eatery, & a shopper’s paradise including long-standing NYC store Joovay, river-jumper Cabin Fever Outfitters, and new favorite Paper Trail.

Fantastic reviews & a few awards under our belt, Montgomery Row is a not-to-be-missed Hudson Valley destination!
